I am a graduate of Clemson University with a degree in business administration. After college, I worked for Burlington industries at three different manufacturing plants in North Carolina. I was in human resources and really enjoyed my work, but I decided to move back home. My parents have owned the Easley Ice Cream Parlor(now known as Joe's) since 1972. So when I moved back home in 1991, I asked my dad if I could work with him for awhile until I found something in my field, and I enjoyed working alongside him and my mom so much that I stayed right there, and I have been there for 35 years now.
Our business offers a very warm and caring atmosphere where we know most of our customers by name. As many people know, restaurant work can be very challenging, but it is so rewarding. In 2022, we celebrated 50 years in business with a spiritual concert at our beautiful Old Market Square in downtown Easley. It was such a wonderful celebration that I'll always cherish. We are known for our hotdogs, and the chili recipe has been with us even before my mom and dad bought the business. We offer burgers, fries, bird dogs, onion rings, banana splits, hot fudge cakes...just to name a few of our most popular choices. We serve lunch and dinner, and we are closed on Sunday. I am married to Matt Ellison, who is also from Easley, and we have two children and two grandchildren. We are members at Easley First Baptist Church, and we love our hometown of Easley.
